Fraser Island - Die groesste Sandinsel der Welt

Im wunderschoenen Hostel in Rainbow Beach angekommen, wurden wir direkt fuer unsere 3 taegige Gruppen/zelten/jeep tour auf Fraser Island vorbereitet. Am naechsten Morgen in aller Frueh gings los, Autos beladen und rauf auf die Faehre.

just arrived in the beautiful hostel in Rainbow Beach, we had a briefing about our 3days group/camping/4w drive jeep tour on Fraser Island. Packing the cars and onto the ferry.

Wir hatten sehr viel Glueck mit unserer Gruppen die aus 9 Deutschen, einem franz. Paeerchen und unserem schottischen Fahrer und Reiseplaner bestand. Alle waren sehr nett, entspannt aber auch verantwortungsbewusst und hilfsbereit. Die Gruppe machte diese Tour zu einem Erfolg. Auf diesem WEge nochmal danke an alle aus meiner Gruppe.

We were really lucky with our group that was consisting mainly of Germans(9) , a french couple and our scotish (from Edinburgh , Kevin!) driver and tour organizer. Everyone was very friendly, relaxed but responsible. It made the tour a real success. Thanks on this way to everyone in my group!

hier habe ich auch zum ersten mal einen Mondaufgang uebern Ozean gesehen. dank Christian konnte ich auch foto davon schiessen. Die Milchstrasse war auch so klar so sehen. here I saw a moon rising above the ocean for the very first time in my life. thanks to Christian I could take a picture of it.

Lake McKenzie. Blauen suesses Wasser, schneeweisser Sand ein paradiesischer ort. blue sweet water and snowwhite sand. a real paradise like place.

hin und wieder sind auch flugzeuge auf der 'Strasse' gelandet. every now and then, airplanes landed on the 'highway'.

Im Meer Baden ist verboten wegen den huebschen Fiechern hier. Haie 200 m vom Strand entfernt. Swimming in the sea wasn't recommendet cos of this sweet creatures. sharks just 200 m from the beach.

Wie seit Ihr gereist? wir hatten den Luxus von 3 Fluegen- nach Sydney, nach Byron Bay und am Ende von Cairns zurueck. Der rest der insgesamt 3500 km wurde mit diesem hier zurueckgelegt. Der Ruecken bedankt sich, die laengste der 3 Fahrten war ca. 14 Std. lang. Gehoert halt auch dazu. With what did you trave? we had 3 luxury flights to Sydney, then to Byron Bay and in the end from Cairns back to Melbourne. The rest of all together 3500km we travelled with the greyhound bus. The back isn't happy. The longest trip was about 14 h. But also this is part of backpacking.

Gegeninitiative : riesseneisladung. Lecker! No sunshine? At least lots of ice cream!

1. Byron Bay hat seine ganz eigene entspannte, harmonische Atmosphere mit vielen kleinen shops zum rumschnueffeln.

Byron Bay has its own relaxed, hamonic atmosphere with plenty of little shops.

2. Abends waren wir dann in der beruehmten "cheaky Monkey" (frecher Affee) bar und haben uns jeder menge anderen wild auf den Tischen tanzenden Backpackers angeschlossen.

At night we went to the famous cheaky monkey bar and joint lots of other backpackers that danced wild on the tables.

Trotz Regen sieht man waren wir gluecklick am STRAND zu sein. Although is was raining , its easy noticable that we enjoyed seeing the beach.

Alles in Allem hatten wir ja nur einen Tag in Byron Bay und der war trotz des REgens sehr schoen, man kann es dort locker eine Woche aushalten. All in all we had only one day in Byron Bay, but it was a great one though it was raining. You can easily spend a week there.

Hier wird mir gerade erklaert wie man das Didgeredoo zu spielen hat. Es ist alles andere als leicht & man braucht seeehr viel Uebung. This guy is explaining me how to play the Didgeredoo. It is all but not easy to play instrument.

Wochenende in Tasmanien - Weekend in Tasmania

Nach einigen Tagen nach Inas Ankunft sind wir (Denis, Goran, Inchen und ich) fuer ein Wochenende nach Tasmanien geflogen. Auf diesem Wege haben wir vor unserem grossen Trip schonmal ins Backpacker Leben reingeschnuppert. Ohne vorgebuchte Unterkunft und grossen Plaenen haben wir einfach alles auf uns zukommen lassen und einen der schoensten Ausfluege daraus gemacht.

A few days after Inas arrivals, we (Denis, Goran, Ina and myself) went to Tasmania for a weekend. On this way we already checked out the backpacker life before heading off on our big trip!Without prebooking accommodation and planing, we just let everything come to us and made one of the best trips out of it.
